Membership Costs
This is a general outline of what expenses you can expect as part of your memberhip in the club.
Membership Dues
The anual dues for the club are
- Melbourne University Student: A$20/year
- Other Student: A$30/year
- Eligible Non-Student: A$50/year
Membership in the club is for one calendar year ending on the last day of February. Membership applications recieved after November 30th each year carry over to the following year. Your membership fee is due with your application.
Gear Hire
If you do not already possess the necessary (and usually expensive) equipment required for a Club Trip, we can supply a modest collection of outdoor-related items. For a scandalously cheap price you can borrow any of these quality items you require for a Club Trip, which generally lasts for a weekend. Prices may vary a little depending on the bigness of the item being borrowed.
Food
Another expenditure for going on Club Trips is buying what you eat. You can expect to spend around $25—$30 for a weekend's supply of grub. This cost estimate does vary with quality. You might be able to eat flora and fauna on your trip, but this is strictly prohibited by law, frowned upon by us, and is very disconcerting for the flora/fauna involved.
Petrol & Car Maintenance
The cost of petrol is divided up equally among people participating in the trip. Therefore, fitting more people in cars leads to cheaper petrol price per member. In addition to petrol, the club charges for vehicle maintenance, which helps cover member's costs associated with providing cars for club trips.
