Ahoy there

On the weekend of the 6/7 Dec we're planning to hold a (emphasis on fun) MTB race near foster, around 2.5hrs drive south east from Melbourne (its kind of on the way to Wilsons Prom) . The idea would be for uni type outdoors clubs (MUMC/LUMC/MBOC/ROC etc) to come along and show how much better than the next uni type outdoors club they are.

Where: a Forestry coup above Turtons creek

Who can enter? Anyone with a mountain bike and a desire to have fun.

When: saturday 6th Dec 10am start.

Cost: free

Accomodation: at alice's place - also free (20min ride away). There will be free camping, toilet, shelter (if necessary) etc.

And most importantly !!! Afterparty !!!

More details will come later (directions etc.)

What is the track like? We haven't actually measured the distance but it's probably a 3-4km long. A steepish 4wd track takes you to the top and a fun generally downhill singletrack takes you down to the start. We (averagely fit Tim and Alice) have done it in around 20min exerting ourselves. You could probably take your time and go round in double or triple that. Its probably no more technical than Lysterfield but bits of it are steeper.

The plan is to participate, have fun, and for those psychos who actually want to exert themselves, go fast!

The idea would be to enter in teams of 1, 2 or 3 and do laps over a 4 to 6 hr period - we haven't decided on the exact details. Laps would be timed, and there would be winners. Not that you would win anything (but acclaim/esteem/cred etc).

Want to volunteer or help out? (officialing/timing/track marking etc.) let me know, it would be much appreciated.
