Day walk to the Brisbane Ranges/Steiglitz Historic Park.
I need to do a crash course to train for the 24 hour rogaine in 2 weeks' time. Therefore I will carry all of your gear and water and food while you walk at a leisurely pace, watching me walk(/struggle?) along.
Plan is to meet at the clubrooms at 7:55am, leaving (any stragglers) at precisely 8:05am, and drive to the Brisbane Ranges by 9:30am.
Start walking before 10am.
The track I've eyed up is the Sutherland Creek track which starts from the Steiglitz Courthouse. This website calls it the Beard's Gully walk.

Estimates of time from different sources include 5 - 6 hours for the 6km-9km. And an additional hour for the four wheel drive track unless we do a car shuttle.
If we are super zippy we can go on with another walk. Otherwise we can go home.
Options for the "fit" are: we can continue on a greater loop including the Steiglitz Circuit Walk which is classified as "moderate, 8.5km, 4 hours," or the Deadman's Loop which is classified as "moderate, 4.7km, 1 hour 45 mins."
Either way, we should aim to leave the park before 6pm (in daylight), so that we can be back in Melbourne at 7:30pm or later if we decide to stop for dinner!
