Ok, so the final plan is to do Eagle Peaks Circuit!
https://www.trailhiking.com.au/eagle-peaks-circuit/
It's in the Alpine National Park, 26km all up, with total climbing (and descending) of 1750m. There won't be much water on the way, but there will be bush bashing and exposed bits. We'd be leaving Friday evening, and camping at the sheepyard flats campground.
I'm not a signed off leader, and this is a hard trip, so please only sign up if you are an 'independent' hiker- if you have little experience bushwalking, or are not confident in your abilities, then this is probably not the best trip to go for. You need to be fit and self reliant, and have some basic skills in navigation. In saying that, if you are unsure about where you stand, please come have a chat with me.
However, this'll be a good opportunity to boost your off track skills, and give you a chance to see how you would fair in something that will probably test you mentally as well. If any of you are interested in the Tassie trip in January, this might be a good chance to see whether you can manage something that difficult.
