Meeting: Tue, 15 Mar 2011, 9:43 pm
Requirements: Outdoors experience plus a good base level of fitness.
Interested in climbing Victoria's highest mountain?
[To be fair to those unnacustomed to Australia's 'Mountains', Mt Bogong is located within the Alpine National Park and rises to a grand total of 1986m.]
The plan: Friday: drive to Mountain Creek Picnic Ground and stay there. (Where we stay on the way to Feathertop etc)
Saturday: Hike up Eskdale spur, to the plateau and camp in or near Cleve Col Memorial hut, on the other side of the plateau.
Sunday: Hike back to the summit (possible side trip to some falls, but requires making your own path) and down Staircase spur to the cars.
This is a trip suitable for beginners, as long as you have a good base level of fitness.
All participants must attend the meeting on Tuesday 15 March at 7:30pm at the clubrooms.
***UPDATE: A leader is now required to lead this trip.***
(But everyone else feel free to continue to sign up. If you are interested in leading the trip, please contact Mitchell at )
