Intro bushwalking trip to Falls Creek.
6pm Friday 15 April - 11pm Sunday 17 April.
The plan: drive to Falls Creek on Friday night (leaving Melbourne around 6pm) and start the walk at Pretty Valley pongage. By the light of the full moon, meander 2 or 3 abreast along a short fire trail for approximately 1.5 hrs. Set up camp near a beautifull swimming creek at Tawonga huts.
After a potential sleep in on Saturday morning, a day walk to Fainter South awaits. The vista will include outstanding panoramic views of the entire range including Mt Feathertop, MUMC Memorial Hut, Mt Hotham and Mt Bogong. An afternoon swim and then dinner around a big fire will round the day off.
Sunday morning will involve a short day walk up to Mt Jim before walking back to the cars at the pondage. Dinner will be at the Milawa Gourmet Hotel before a drive the rest of the way back to Melbourne.
