Fire and Ice (V4a1I**) - Located in the Mt Cobbler plateau, this canyon has 'the most beautiful free hanging abseil in the state'.
The canyon consists of 8 pitches (up to 60m)
Time approximations are: 75min approach, 4.5 hours canyoning, 2.5 hours exit
Weather dependent, we will leave the club rooms at midday on Friday night and drive 5 hours to Lake Cobbler hut where we will camp the night.
In the morning on Saturday, we will wake up early, do a car shuttle and spend the day canyoning.
There is possibility we may also do an extra canyon on Sunday!
This is a remote wilderness area and the walkout is through steep and thick scrub and will require very high fitness. Advanced bushwalking skills are the entry level for this trip.
It will also be early spring, so hypothermia is a real risk.
If this still sounds like fun, sign up!
