Meeting: Tue, 3 Jun 2025, 7:00 pm
It’s time for another rogaine! Riding off the high from last weeks rogaine, we have another wonderful event coming up on the 14th and 15th of June. This rogaine has the option of either doing an 8 hour day/night event (Saturday) or 6 hour day event (Sunday) and therefore is perfect for both novice and veteran rogainers. This rogaine is located at Lake Eppalock (up towards Bendigo). This is an excellent opportunity to try night rogaining for the first time as well in a shorter night format than usual!
If you have team members in mind or are looking for people to team up with, come along to the meeting where we will be organising teams of 2 to 5 people. Everyone is welcome to join, whether it is your first time or your 100th!
The rogaine is organised by the Victorian Rogaining Association, more info about the event can be found here: https://rogainevic.org.au/saturday-8hr-day-night-sunday-6hr-day-rogaine-14th-june-2025/ . We also have a new chat on the Oxo Clubrooms just for rogaining (yay!!) so you can always put any questions you have in there if you can’t find the information on the VRA page!
Please also consider volunteering. It helps out the VRA who are volunteers just like us and you get free entry into a future rogaine of your choice. (Hint: for this one you could volunteer one day and participate the other.. double the fun!!)
Note: trip meeting is 2 Tuesdays before the event. This is to make sure teams are registered before the cut-off date. If you want to attend the trip, but cannot make the meeting, send me an email or pop a message in the comments so I can help find you a team.
What is Rogaining?
Rogaining is the sport of distance cross-country navigation in which teams of two to five members visit as many checkpoints as possible in the specified time (usually 6 or 12 hours). It's kind of like a scavenger hunt in the bush, and is basically a mix between trail running/hiking and orienteering. At our meeting we'll explain the rules in more detail but if you want to read more, see here: https://rogainevic.org.au/about/
