Hey everyone! Time for another rogaine!! We’re back to a bush rogaine for this one after the last metrogaine. This is the same weekend as the Australasian Intervarsity Rogaining, but much more suited to beginners or those who want shorter events.

This rogaine will be held in the Wombat State Forest, and has the option of either 6 or 12 hour events. Both start at 11am on Saturday 13/09, and for those in the 11 hour event, camping overnight is highly recommended. Good opportunity to try night rogaining! Gear can be hired from the club :))

If you have team members in mind or are looking for people to team up with, come along to the meeting where we will be organising teams of 2 to 5 people. Everyone is welcome to join, whether it is your first time or your 100th!

The rogaine is organised by the Victorian Rogaining Association, more info about the event can be found here: https://rogainevic.org.au/september-rogaine-13-september-2025/. We also have a chat on the Oxo Clubrooms just for rogaining (yay!!) so you can always put any questions you have in there if you can’t find the information on the VRA page!

Please also consider volunteering. It helps out the VRA who are volunteers just like us and you get free entry into a future rogaine of your choice.

Note: trip meeting is 2 Tuesdays before the event. This is to make sure teams are registered before the cut-off date. If you want to attend the trip, but cannot make the meeting, send me an email or pop a message in the comments.

What is Rogaining?

Rogaining is the sport of distance cross-country navigation in which teams of two to five members visit as many checkpoints as possible in the specified time (usually 6 or 12 hours). It’s kind of a mix between trail running/hiking and orienteering (sort of like a scavenger hunt in the bush!). At our meeting I will explain the rules in more detail, and if you want to read more, see here: https://rogainevic.org.au/about/
