The Two Bays Trail is a gorgeous through track that goes from Arthur’s seat in Dromana, to the Cape Schank Lighthouse through the Mornington Peninsula National Park.
Supposedly some people do it over two days but since it’s only 26km I wanna do it as a day trip (and an excuse to get out of the city). It’s listed as an intermediate trip because 26km does require a decent level of fitness even if the trail itself probably doesn’t require a lot of bushwalking experience.
That being said, it is summertime and that comes with taking precautions for the UV, the heat, watching out for snakes and bringing at least 3-4 litres water (because I don't think there will be anywhere to fill up on the trail), but we’ll discuss all of that and what to bring at the meeting.
Important to note is that this trip will all hinge on getting two cars (cause I don’t have one :p) because it is a through hike so we’ll need to drop one off at the start and end of the trail. People with cars will be given priority for this trip.
hope y’all are keen and I’ll see yah at the meeting !

25.59km, 648m elevation, weather predicted to be 21 degrees.
Rough outline of the day:
- Meet at the clubrooms at 6:30am
- Drive 1hr 15mins to Latrobe Parade CarPark (Arthurs Seat, Dromana)
- Drivers both head down to Cape Schank Reserve Lighthouse Carpark
- Drop one car there and drive back (around 45 mins)
- Start the hike around 9am ish
- With lunch included hike should be around 7-9 hours (very pace dependant), so maybe finishing around 4-6pm
- Both drivers (and some others) into the car at Cape Schank, heading via Arthurs seat to drop off one of the drivers (who over draws the short straw :P) to drive back to Cape Schank to pick up the stragglers (and likely myself :P) and head back up to the clubrooms or wherever the driver is willing to drop you off (up to them, no expectations).
