World Rogaining Championships 2027

Hi all!

This is the big one - World Rogaining Championships 2027!!

If you are receiving this notification it means sign-ups are going to open within 24hrs.

This rogaine will be held in the Flinders Rangers, 5 hours from Adelaide. It is a gnarly 24hr event (though there is a 'fun 5 hour' option) that attracts the best rogainers from across the world! The terrain is unlike any Victorian rogaine you may have done in the past, and I suspect the competition will be fierce.

Instead of typing out all of the relevant info, I encourage those interested to visit the World Rogaining Championships website - please carefully read the bulletins, arrival information, associated costs, etc. If you are unsure where to look or need me to decipher something, please don't hesitate to send me an email.

Teams may only consist of 2-3 people.

Sign-ups open on the 1st of October 2026 but the WRA say it is unlikely to fill up fast (or at all). That being said, there are only 1000 places available. The upfront cost for entry to the championship event is $310-$400 AUD. More information about entries can be found here.

This trip is set to EOI only to gauge interest, as well as provide people with a place to ask questions look for team members. Please EOI if you are seriously considering entering. Next year I will send out another trip notification with more info and a meeting date for those entered.

What is Rogaining?

Rogaining is the sport of distance cross-country navigation in which teams of two to five members visit as many checkpoints as possible in the specified time. It’s kind of a mix between trail running/hiking and orienteering (sort of like a scavenger hunt in the bush!). If you want to read more, see here: https://rogainevic.org.au/about/

We also have a chat on the Oxo Clubrooms just for rogaining, so you can always put any questions you have in there.
