Hopefully avoid the crowds with this midweek trip to the ever popular Wilsons Promontory.

Each day is up to 16km and 400m of elevation gain. Even with the very early start from Tidal River on Wednesday it still requires keeping a consistent pace over the whole day so the trip is not suitable for beginners, but it might be your first time camping overnight. Both nights are spent in tents at Roaring Meg campsite with Thursday being short day trips out to the various sights (example pictured). Retuning to Melbourne on Friday before Dinner time.
While there will be no campfires or swimming there is a tidal estuary to wade across so everyone needs to be comfortable with moving about in ocean waves. Facilities are limited to toilets and flat places to camp so we need to carry in and carry back out everything for the 3 days.

More detail of the area and route is available in the pamphlet from Parks Victoria.
Transport will be $50 in addition to the camping fees of $15, non refundable deposit required to secure a campsite must be paid in advance. All required equipment can be hired from the club at additional cost: https://www.mumc.org.au/gear
