Dear OXOs,

Thank you for the opportunity to represent you as President of the Mountaineering Club. The role means a great deal to me, and this is why I have decided to resign. My decision is made with the best intentions for our club, entrusting it to the many capable hands that run trips, serve on committee, or simply go to the pub on Tuesdays. I am grateful for the many lessons and insights you have all provided to me in these settings.

As I write this, I am on a one way ticket to Washington DC. I am a proud American citizen that is troubled by the many crises my country faces. I hope to use my experiences to help my nation - experiences to which you have contributed greatly. For this, I thank you.

Very soon the committee will be electing my successor. In my experience, the role places equal importance on both decision making and communication. I encourage anyone who feels determined, sociable, and confident to nominate themselves. Whoever takes the role, I hope they carry the love and respect that MUMC deserves - and show it in their treatment of the committee, deputies, and members that make this club so exceptional.

Good luck everyone, please stay safe out there.

xoxo,

Connor
