Write for our magazine! 📝🏔️🧗

Do you want to be forever immortalised in the 2025 Mountaineer Magazine? 

Hey everyone,

✨ Submissions are now open for The Mountaineer Magazine 2025! ✨

Whether you're going on some epic adventures this mid-year break, or you want to reflect on a trip from a few months ago, consider writing a short story, trip report or article for our annual magazine.

We accept all formats of writing, as long as it's relevant to the sports we do here at MUMC.  It can be as short or long as you like! We have plenty of past copies of The Mountaineer in our clubrooms for you to take a look at, as well as the magazine tab.

🚴‍♀️ Some examples of what you can write: A trip report on an MUMC trip, a trip report on a personal trip, an article about climbing and what that means to you, a guide for cooking your favourite outdoor meal, reflections on a recent solo trip, poetry inspired by the outdoors and more!

Please email all submissions to and attach some images! 

We'll have a magazine launch event with the final magazine so you can grab a copy, plus each year we send a copy to be kept at the State Library!
