Requirements: - Previous overnight hiking experience - Good level of fitness (5+ hours uphill hike) - Not afraid of a bit of snow

The way the weather is heading this could be one of the last opportunities to camp up on the summit of Mount Bogong before it is covered in snow!

My plan is to head up the Staircase spur on Saturday morning, carrying the whole weekend's worth of water, then head out along the ridge to the west and find a place to camp. There is however a very good chance the weather will be too foul to want to camp on the ridge, in which case we can head the other direction to Cleve Cole hut.

The trek up Staircase Spur is pretty grueling, but a good level of fitness is all that's required. Given the weather and potential for snow I will also require participants to have previous overnight hiking experience. Snow tents will be required (but can be hired from the club).

The trip meeting will be on Tuesday (19th) at 19:15, and is compulsory if you want to come on the weekend. We will need to make sure we are well prepared for icy weather!

If you have any questions come and talk to me on Tuesday nights at the club rooms.
