Requirements: Willingness to get in a kayak

With the weather becoming so awful that most of us just want to snuggle up in front of the fire and cry until the sun comes out, it must be time to go paddling! If you're interested in paddling some great rivers this winter and spring, or if you want to have some fun playing canoe polo (in a heated pool!) then an eskimo roll is what you'll need.

Eskimo rolling is the art of flipping your boat upright after a capsize, avoiding a cold and potentially dangerous swim.

We're hiring some space at the Victoria Uni pool in Footscray so that we can learn and practice our rolling. This is an opportunity for anyone interested in kayaking, with any level of experience, to get in the boat and have a go. Matt and Jack will be there offering instruction and giving a few demos.

Keep in mind, for some of the best paddling trips coming up this year, rolling will be a requirement for the trip. So start learning and getting your confidence up now! If we have enough interest we can run these semi-regularly so people can get some more practice.
