Volunteers are required for the 2015 Regent Honeyeater Captive Release & Community Monitoring Project - going on for another 5-6 weeks, so roughly until the end of June.
You will be helping with radio tracking of recently released Regent Honeyeaters in Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park. Tracking happens daily, except Saturdays, over the next few weeks, working in teams of 2-3 people (no experience required and training will be provided). You can volunteer for a day or longer, or join several times.
This is an opportunity to:
• Be involved with an on-ground threatened species project in regional Victoria
• Learn how to use radio tracking equipment and or build on your bird survey and identification skills
• Meet like-minded people while working in the beautiful Box Ironbark forest of the Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park
Please contact Elizabeth Wemyss, DELWP Project Biodiversity Officer, an email at or phone 0477 312 592 to register or get more information.
