Last chance to plant some trees to create habitats for the threatened species like Regent Honeyeaters, Grey-crowned Babblers, Squirrel Gliders and Brush-tailed Phascogales.
It'll be a weekend trip, set off from clubrooms at 6.45am on Saturday, arrive in Winton (near Benalla) at 9am, and reach Melbourne before 6pm on Sunday.
Accomodation, 3-course community dinner on Sat and BBQ lunch on Sun will be provided. Bush dance on Sat night (I would not want to miss this!)
Sign-up by: 21 September 2015 (Need to arrange for dinner/BBQ lunch catering and cars)
Bring:
- Sleeping bag (for Scout Hall) or tent (if camping)
- Garden gloves
- Sun hat / suncreen / sun protective clothings
- Packed lunch for Sat and breakfast on Sun
(Subject to number of cars available. Note: deposit will be required for car hire if necessary. Option will be to take a train up to Benalla.)
NOTE: This planting event spans over five weekends (see dates below). You are welcome to go on any of these dates (I am going on the 12-13 September weekend but not the other four weekends.) You'll need to sign up beforehand so catering can be arranged. Email/talk to me and I will sort you out.
