I haven't been to Tali Karng yet so planning a trip in Summer when it might be hot enough to swim in the icy snowmelt lake (although if it's too hot I may cancel the trip or choose a different hike).

There's a few routes in so will decide the week before based on group preferences and skills. All routes will require walking between 14 to 20km each day (5-7 hours of walking minimum) with an overnight pack weighing 10-15kg so reasonable fitness/stamina and experience walking with a pack will be required. There may also be multiple river crossings and rock scrambling and some offtrack walking/route finding depending on the route we take. Come and chat to me if you are unsure.

*****

Final route choice is to walk from Macfarlane Saddle to Wellington River Bridge, camping just past the lake on the river. Around 16km per day, mostly downhill or flat but will be steep and rocky in parts and with many river crossings.
