Rolling

Hi, 

The pool is currently booked from 1-3pm on Saturday the 15th so we will likely head then. Trip will not run if only a few people sign up. 

Numbers depend on cars with roof racks.

The only prerequisite is that you are able to swim and have watched the video below. 

You will have to have watched the first 30 minutes of this video about the sweep roll BEFORE the trip to get a basic understanding of the principles:

If you don't know how to roll yet and show up on Sunday and haven't watched it I won't take you to the pool. Seriously.

We will look at some rolling footage from our NZ pool sessions in the club rooms before heading to the pool to look at some common mistakes, pack boats and head to the pool where we will practice and video each other. We will head back to MUMC to clean up and discuss our rolls over a cup of tea. 

We have tried the videoing in the past and found that people just run off after the pool session. Watching videos allows you to better understand what is working and what is not, it is very useful for getting a good roll.

We are super keen to make the start into your river life as happy and easy as possible with those sessions. A good roll makes your and your trip leaders life a lot easier! So please be aware that the trip won't be a two-hour procedure but will possibly take longer but you'll be getting lots out of it (or at least we hope so).
