We're planning on hiking up to Mt Speculation before the roads are closed for the winter. Will hike from Howqua river up Stanley name spur to the crosscut, camp at Mt Spec and return on Sunday. There will need to be a fairly strict trip limit for appropriate waste management.

The Crosscut is an amazing part of the Victorian Alpine and is the geographical inspiration for the book Tomorrow When The War Began.

This trip is open to everyone, previous experience isn't required. However you must be fit as the vertical ascent/decent is over 1000m. Overnight temperatures will likely be below zero, so will need a good tent, sleeping bag and warm gear (which most of can be hired from the club).
