Annual General Meeting

Melbourne University Mountaineering Club Inc. will hold its annual general meeting on Tuesday the 29th of August.  Please come along to vote for your new Committee for 2017-8.  The meeting will take place at the club rooms, 169-171 Berkley St, Melbourne starting at 7:00pm.

A notice of meeting and a form to nominate for the 2017-8 committee will be circulated in due course.  Please talk to the current or former committee members if you are interested in running.  You can also ask the secretary for a copy of the SOP for the position to get an idea of what is involved.

Committee positions:
President and Vice-President are the external face of the club with the university and set the vision for the year
Treasurer pretty obviously manages the clubs finances
Secretary manages memberships and meeting agendas
Safety Officer  will be central to fostering and nurturing a safety awareness culture within the club
Sport Officers (Walking sports, Rope sports, Paddling, Conservation, Alpinism, Snow Sports) are responsible for managing that sport with encouraging leaders to be running trips and managing and purchasing gear.
Publications Officer, publishes the Mountaineer and management of social media accounts
General Member is a good position if you’d like to get involved but don’t know what position is for you. General members can help out other members as required and can organise a few of the key annual events such as Pie and Slide, Intro Trip and O week.
