The first Yarra trip for the summer!
Lower Homestead Rd to Bourchiers Rd, 12.5km ... "combines long flat-water passages with some of the best rapids on the river" (WCC)
Compulsory trip meeting: Tues Dec 1 Cost: $10 gear hire /day + petrol
Meet at clubrooms - load boats - drive ~40 mins to Lower Homestead Rd, Wonga Park - paddle incl. stop for lunch on side of river - take out at Bourchiers Rd, Kangaroo Ground - car shuffle - head home or stay for the Christmas party (see 'Xmas Party' in Events)
First timer friendly, we'll have a chance to work on a few skills. You must be a strong swimmer. Numbers are leader, boat and car dependant - hopefully anyone interested will at least get to paddle one of Saturday or Sunday
You will need: -packed lunch, snacks -water bottle -cap, sunscreen -thermals**, boardshorts & bathers (wetsuits, optional, can be hired from the club for $5) -river shoes** (small sneakers/wetsuit booties) -towel, dry set clothes
