Intervarsity Mitchell River Kayaking

The annual Intervarsity Mitchell River trip is approaching!

For the past 30 years*  Monash, Melbourne and La Trobe (with the occasional tag along) have spent a social weekend in the middle of September in Gippsland on the white water mecca aka the Mitchell River. The weekend is spent rafting, kayaking, pirating with various kinds of boat race.

Kayakers need to be able to t-rescue competently at a minimum. Some kayakers will be asked to portage 2-3 rapids, using the kayaking skills chart as a guide.

This trip caters for all skill levels, the only requirement for rafters is to be a competent swimmer. If you are hesitant to kayak, sign up for rafting.

Estimated cost is around 100$, 

This includes transport there and back again, two breakfasts, one dinner, and all whitewater gear hire.
