Hi everyone!

I'm in the planning of a introduction to snowcamping and a beginners ski trip for the second weekend of August to Hotham.

This will be a beginner friendly trip where we will focus on developing skiing skills and learn about camping out in the snow. The trip is open for everyone, but having been on an overnight trip before is recommended. Snowcamping can get quite cold so knowing how to set up a tent and what to bring will make your night out much more pleasant!

This is a play and learn trip, meaning no skiing experience is required, this is the perfect opportunity to learn both about snow camping and skiing itself!

The plan is to drive to Hotham and camp next to a hut which is a short walk/ski from the road. We won't be staying in the hut, it is for emergency shelter only, but we can cook and warm up in there. Saturday, we can ski around the area, practice techniques, play around and get used to the skis. Sunday we can go for a short tour or just practice more, depending on how confident people are on the skis.

If we have enough leaders, we can split up the group according to skill levels allowing everyone to challenge themselves at their level. Meaning if there's interest among more experienced participants and a spare leader for that, they could for example head up the lower part of the razorback for a day tour and practice skiing on more challenging terrain.

Leaders: If you're free and want to come, send me a msg!

How big group can go depend on the number of leaders, cars and gear (i.e. skis and snowtents available).

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. A more exact plan will be posted after the trip meeting tuesday (8th August) when I know how many are coming. Lets hope for awesome weather!
