In the wake of International Beach Clean Up Day on the 16th September ( and of course a cleaner beach), I plan to walk some sections of the Great Ocean Walk and pick up some trash along the way. My initial ideal sections are as suggested in the title of this trip.It might be too ambitious as I have not been there before but I heard it's beautiful and not strenuous.

To be on this trip, you must have done an overnight hike before, know what to pack and how to dress appropriately. I will come up with a little more detailed plan closer to the date but I probably won't write up a thorough list of what to bring except for garbage picking and carrying apparatus.

I don't really know what separate intermediate from beginner in bushwalking. I set the standard to intermediate but I expect the participants to know what to do without being told and know the personal limits. I am open to questions though.

The plan is to leave Melbourne on Friday, probably grab dinner and camp somewhere in the Otway close to the start of the walk which is yet to be decided. There are a few options on how we take the walk.

Option 1

We will start at Castle Cove, pass Johanna Beach along the way, and eventually settle at Ryan's Den for the night (21km).

Leaving the campsite next morning bright and early, we will head towards the 12 Apostles via Devil's Kitchen and its spectacular view of the beach (29km). Hopefully we will reach by sunset because I really don't want to walk in the dark.

Option 2 (most likely)

We will start walking around 8ish from Johanna Beach and  camp at Devil's Kitchen on Saturday (27km). Apparently the toilet at the campsite has quite a view.

The second day entails a nice and relaxing walk from Devil's Kitchen to 12 Apostles (16km) and we most definitely see the finish before sunset.

Option 3 ( when the weather is not so sunny and if Ryan's Dan or Wattle Hill is accessible either by car or walking )

We will start some where and have a relaxing day of wandering towards Devil's Kitchen (10+km). The second day consist mainly walking towards the apostles and perhaps taking some photo along the way.

The campsite fee is $30.9/ 2-3person tent/night so it break downs to $10.3/person/night if we have multiples of three. Cancellation are not refundable within 30days of the booked date but I guess the reservation can be made a day before departure.

This trip is subject to change depending on number of cars (one at least if we wanna be back by Sunday as Vline only runs on weekdays I think; two cars are ideal), weather, and trips I may be more interested in.
