Feathertop or Bogong

A spring ski trip up to Feathertop (Bungalow Spur and camping near Fed Hut or MUMC Hut) or Bogong (Eskdale Spur and camping at Michell hut) depending on weather, and what people would like to do. 

We also have a few people interested in joining for the walk up in snow shoes, so if you've some experience overnight bushwalking, you're welcome to join for that too. Please keep in mind that the weather may be poor, and it may be cold/wet, and it's a 1100m altitude gain walk up to Federation Hut.

I was at Bogong earlier this season, it's amazing to ski in good weather! (And a great adventure in bad weather). Feathertop should be similar, but a slightly longer walk up.

This is an advanced trip, while neither trip option requires one to be capable of skiing with camping gear on their backs, ideally, we'll be out playing on some of the steeper slopes, and the snow isn't always very nice; as such you'd need to be at a level where you can safely ski black resort runs.

A decent level of hiking fitness required, we'll be hiking with all the usual hiking gear + skis + boots. You don't want to be smashed by the time we get to the hut and have no energy left to ski.

If you want to bring your downhill skis and your ski boots aren't too uncomfortable to walk in, feel free, as snow-shoeing up the hills with your skis on your back could be a good option. The club has snow shoes, and telemark skis/boots for hire. You can also do alpine turns in telemark gear.
