A bushwalking trip for the Cup day long weekend, at least it's a long weekend if you also have the monday off like I do.

As 4 days needs a trip somewhere so it's off to Google maps to find a national Park I've not been to before, which results in me finding the Croajingolong National Park way out east.

The plan is to do something along the lines of the following which sees us visit a few different sections of the park as a series of daywalks.

Saturday - Thurra river - start with the Dunes walk then head south to pick up one of the other walking tracks to return to camp perhaps a detour to the shipwreck of the SS Saros and Point Hicks lighthouse.

Sunday - leave Thurra river in the morning drive to Genoa peak and walk up the peak arriving late afternoon-ish at Shipwreck creek campsite.

Monday - A walk through the coastal forests towards one (or more) of the several beaches to the north on which to have lunch and spend some time relaxing before returning to camp.

Tuesday - A short walk in the morning before returning to Melbourne in the early afternoon or maybe just a morning spent relaxing on the beach doing not much at all.
