ROC have a qualified whitewater instructor, Shaun Clements, coming in to teach them about whitewater safety. If you are interested in becoming a whitewater leader, either in rafts or kayaks; or are a participant that wants to improve their personal skills then feel free to show up.
He will be presenting stuff from 6:30, with a break for tea at about 8pm. They will keep going for a while after tea. If you have any dietary requirements then let Michael know.
The cost for MUMC members will be $15.
Some of the things that they will be covering are:

- Risk assessment and group decision-making
- Low to high risk rescue options
- Personal and rescue equipment
- Whitewater swimming techniques and self-rescue
- Shallow-water crossings

- Mechanical advantage systems
We also might get to cover:

Come along, bring a friend.
