Mt Bogong is the highest mountain in Victoria. If offers many many opportunities for the keen skier. There is scope to have people practice crampons technique on this trip if we find some ice in a suitable location.

I've currently got the skill level as Advanced. You don't need to be able to ski with an overnight backpack, but you will need to be confident travelling down black runs executing parallel or telemark turns.

If you're super keen to come, and you're not quite at that level, I'd suggest trying to go on some intermediate club trips in the weeks leading up to this trip, and even going resort skiing for a weekend, perhaps take some lessons.

Trip plan is to drive to Mountain Creek on Friday night, and camp at the bottom. Then on Saturday Morning, drive up to the car park for Eskdale Spur and make the hike up to Michell hut where we can dump our overnight gear, and make a dash for the summit to have fun on our skis.

Sunday morning, more fun on skis. Then on Sunday afternoon, a leisurely stroll back down to the cars and the drive home.

Apologies to everyone, trip cancelled due to poor weather forecast and potentially high avalanche risk
