WMSS are hosting this talk by Dr Ian Millar on the effects of extreme pressure on the body. I've met him myself and know he's got some pretty interesting experience under his belt and is a great story teller. It'll go into a bit of medical detail, but is grounded in adventure and the exploration of frontier environments.

Come along before the MUMC meeting on Tuesday night!
Here's the description from WMSS's facebook event:
We're thrilled to invite Dr Ian Millar, a specialist in hyperbaric medicine at Alfred Health, to talk to us about life under the extremes of pressure. We'll hear about the effects of high and low pressure on the body, from dive medicine to high altitude emergencies and everything in-between.
Ian is a specialist occupational physician and former rescue and emergency diver with over 25 years experience in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine. He is the Medical Advisor to the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, Emergency Medical Services and is the Chair of the Standards Australia Committee responsible for Occupational and Recreational Diving.
