We are organizing group training for club members in HLITAID005: Provide First Aid in Remote Situations.

Course description: This course teaches the skills and knowledge required to provide First Aid response; life support; management of person(s), the incident and other first aiders in remote situations until handed over to medical or other assistance.

Course outcomes: This course includes competencies 001, 002, 003 and 005: No prior experience is necessary. Statement of attainment will be valid for 3 years.

Cost: $200 per person, but we are organizing to have this subsidized by MUS and by the MUMC Training Fund: If you are eligible, the course will be $50-$100. Current trip leaders will have priority for grants.

Dates 16th and 17th May, from 6pm to 10pm at the MUMC club rooms.

Please note that if you are looking for first aid training, this is fairly advanced. Completing HLITAID002 is the basic competency to run a trip with MUMC, and will have you covered for the majority of workplace first aid requirements.
