Mt Bogong Summit Snowshoeing

Plan:

Friday:  Meet at MUMC clubrooms at 6:00 pm, collect the snowshoes and then drive ( approx. 4.5 hrs) to Mountain Creek campground.

Saturday: Hike up Eskdale Spur to summit Mt Bogong. We either drop our bags at Mitchell hut go the summit an return to the hut to camp for the night or continue to Cleve Cole hut  ( depends on the time, snow, weather conditions).

Sunday: Return to Mountain Creek via Eskdale Spur  ( or do the circuit via Staircase if we camped at Cleve Coles and weather permit  )  

This is an intermediate level trip involving snow shoeing with possibility of changing weather conditions. It requires good level of fitness , navigation skills, snow camping ability, knowledge of risks including hypothermia ..etc
