Visit the Club Hut

Requirements: Be prepared to put in some work at the hut.

Staying at the club hut on Mt Feathertop. Come for the weekend or stay on for a week. Help out with maintenance and enjoying some relax time.

Goal: Complete a number of different maintenance activies at the hut. Paiting the exterio. Further varnishing of interior wood. Repair / replace the front door. etc.

Plan: Drive from Melbourne either Friday night or Saturday morning. (If Friday night we'll camp in the adjacent valley at Mt Creek Camp ground). Saturday morning we'll take one of the main routes into the hut, will depend on interest and the fitness / interest of participants. There is the easier Razorback accross from Mt Hotham, taking in the views; The challenging North-West Spur straight to the hut; The classic Bungalow spur via Federation Hut; or a few other less walked options.

Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning we'll get stuck into maintenance jobs.

For those who have to be back in melbourne on Monday, they'll head back to cars on Sundary after lunch, to make Melbourne by late evening.

For those who may have some time off work / uni. Stay on until with me until about Wednesday. Since we'd have a bit of time, we'd not kill ourselves rushing maintenance work. Take time to enjoy the views and read a few books.

UHF raidos will be taken on this trip so people can do some side trips with a bit more safety. Depending on the route taken, some will still have to take tents, even though we will stay in the hut.
