Planning a walk around the Sherbrooke forest area of the Dandenongs, most likely the loop and to Sherbrooke falls. It'll be a total of around 15km, mostly easy, but with steep sections, and made tougher by the weather. The forecast is for rain, zero to 5 degrees, possible thunderstorns, snow, and hail. Hence, the trip is intermediate- best for those with the right gear, and experience in the cold. If you're not sure whether this hike/these conditions are for you, please contact us on 0423743001 (Evie) or 0439448072 (Ruby).

Meet at 7.55am sharp at Parliament station, by the entrance sign on the corner of Spring St and Lonsdale. We'll be getting on the 8.14 Lilydale train, to change trains at Blackburn and get to Belgrave station to start our walk at about 10.

Bring decent walking shoes (slippery mud is a possibility), a headtorch if you have one, 1.5L+ water, lunch and snacks, raincoat and plenty of warm layers-- it's gonna be a cold and rainy adventure. Lots of the track is through mountain ash forests, which I imagine will be beautiful in this weather, and should keep us sheltered from the wind. With the right gear, I'm hoping it'll be the perfect weather to warm ourselves up by walking, have a thermos of tea, and go home to a hot shower feeling satisfied.
