This walk will be challenging due to the elevation covered. It is in a completely remote part of Australia with little to no markings, limited water supply and no phone coverage.  We will, however, be based with the cars at a freshwater river for 2 nights. see link for added details on the walk: https://www.trailhiking.com.au/mount-ligar-and-mount-tamboritha/

Prepare to be carrying a minimum of 5L 2 for each day 1 for cooking. Or if your cooking doesn't require then 2.5 for each day.

Thursday:

10am- 3pm Drive from Melbourne to Breakfast Creek carpark (approximately 30min past Licola). Set up camp at Breakfast creek/ swim if weather is good, or walk up a hill, or sit around and read. Your call here.

Friday:

15km but about 1200m elevation

There are really no markers on this walk and we will be relying on compass and  cairn markings to traverse through the best parts of the ridge.

Long Hill Creek should have water but this creek does dry up in summer

Saturday:

Loopback down. Camp the night at Breakfast Creek. Hike to the intersection of McMillans Track roughly 15km. If there is any water access on this day it'll need to be boiled but plan to not find any.

Sunday:

Roughly 10km  back to Breakfast Creek. Camp with cars.

Monday:

Drive back to Melbourne. Will be back by dinner.
