A good beginners trip and a GREAT introduction to REAL Victorian rock!  All levels are welcome.
The  plan is to leave Friday afternoon (meet at the clubrooms at 5.45pm and please advise if you have a car), drive up to Stapylton Campground (dinner on the way), sleep, and on saturday morning get up and go climbing!

Food will be organised in car groups, petrol to share with your driver.  Cost of the trip (camping fees plus MUMC gear hire) will be $20pp. (unconfirmed)

***UPDATE Tuesday 1 March 2011*** If you came to the trip meeting tonight you will know that this trip was seriously over-booked, and there were not enough cars and not enough camping gear (tents etc).  Therefore, I will need to do some culling (sorry) for this weekend's trip.  I have so far two cars, which can take a total of 8 people.  More people = more cars, so if you have a car, please say so so we can get the full 20 people going on this trip!!!  If you can track down a tent to share between you please also say so.  You should assume that the club has NO camping gear left to hire after the other trips have booked out the camping gear already!

From Chockstone:

Possibly the most popular area in the Grampians, Summer Day Valley is a great spot for beginners, top ropers and guided groups with some harder lines, such as those on the Wall Of Fools attracting the more serious climbers. Nearby Mt Stapylton camping area is new and has running water and nice toilets. If you haven't climbed in the Gramps before this is a good place to start with easy access and nothing very tall or exposed.

We will be hanging out around the Back Wall and the main wall, with possibly a blat on the Wall of Fools if we have time.
