Conservation in Buchan

Recently, Buchan and the surrounding area were severely affected by the 2019/2020 bushfires. As a result, a lot of native vegetation has been destroyed and has yet to recover. Hindering this recovery is the emergence of invasive species into the area.
This is where you step in! A private reserve operated by the Trust for Nature has agreed to have MUMC on the property to assist in spraying these invasive plants (I will provide images of the targets soon). We will also be fencing if there are not enough spraying equipment.
What to bring:
The area we are staying has limited facilities but does have gas stoves and sinks with safe water. All you will need to bring is sleeping equipment and clothing that you are comfortable getting dirty.
The working plan will be to leave Friday afternoon and camp on the property. On Saturday we will do conservation stuff and recoup at the pub. Sunday we will finish up any work that needs doing and leave by 1:00PM which should get us back in Melbourne by 8:00PM
