Well some people seemed really interested in trying caving so I thought this would be a nice start for that.

Labertouche is a cave. It is also a town. This cave is an 2 hour drive east of Melbourne with a hole in one end and a hole in the other end (Protostome for those interested) . This means we can walk in one and out the other. As a whole the journey takes 4 hours so bring snacks.

The cave is rather basic in terms of cave formation but it's got glow worms so that's neat. As for ropes and the likes, there is no ropes but some place may require some marginal climbing so be cool with that.

The plan is as follows.

  1. Meet at Clubrooms at 8AM
  2. Drive to car park
  3. Walk through cave
  4. Drive back to Melbourne
  5. Drink at Pub

But there's a catch. I don't have a car and I can't fit many people on my bike so In the signups I will be prioritising people who own a car (points if it works).

What to bring

  • Clothes that can be scratched and stuff
  • Water
  • Gumboots (required)
  • Headtorch (club has those but not many so
  • Snacks if you want them

Finally the meeting will be held on Thursday NOT TUESDAY because I have other things on that day. Going to the meeting is required as is writing in your sign up that "caving is fun" I will be using this as proof that you have read this far.
