Trip Plan:

Friday: Meet at MUMC clubrooms at 6:00 pm, collect the snowshoes and then drive ( approx. 4.5 hrs) to Mountain Creek campground.

Saturday: Hike up Staircase Spur to summit Mt Bogong. Then continue to Cleve Cole hut to camp overnight

Sunday: Return to Mountain Creek via Eskdale Spur

Itinerary may change depends on snow, time , weather conditions :

* Stay at Bivouac Hut before the summit if weather changed to extreme

* Start from Eskdale Spur and camp at Mitchel hut.

This is challenging hike trip involving snow shoeing with possibility of changing weather conditions, navigation can be difficult with strong winds, fogs, and freezing temperatures.

The trip is suitable for participants with previous bush walking experience with pack and can look after themselves. It requires a good level of fitness and stamina, navigation skills, snow camping ability, knowledge of risks including hypothermia.
