Easter Arapiles Climbing

Requirements: Participants must acquire shoes, harness, belay device and helmet, themselves before the trip. These can be hire from the club.

Easter Arapiles has been a tradition in MUMC and other clubs for decades.   It, along with the Intro Trip and Midnight Ascent, has traditionally been among the bigger social trips in the club.

Easter usually offers near perfect climbing weather for fantastic climbing at Australias premier rock climbing destination.  You can also take the opportunity to socialise with other outdoors clubs MUMC, ROC, LUMC, MBOC & VCC as well as the climbing community in general.

There will be great opportunities for more exciting climbing including multipitch climbing (100m climbs!) and clinics for additional climbing skills such as leading and self rescue.  The ability to offer this is dependent on the numbers of leaders.

DETAILS:

WHEN: 22-25th April.  Dates and times are flexible depending on car drivers.  It is usual for some groups stay longer if they have the free time.

SIZE:  We will aim for a trip size of 40 with 10 leaders and 30 non leaders.  A 1:3 ratio of leaders to non leaders will allow better climbing opportunities for all.

EXPERIENCE:  Climbers must have had experience in belaying.  Attend indoor sessions beforehand if you wish to attend and do not have belay experience.
