The Annual Snowy River Extreme Race will be returning to Island Bend in Kosciuszko National Park. Assuming the borders are open in both directions by October (optimistically), it would be great for a few OXO's to make their way north to compete, seeing as most Victorian paddlers were locked out of NSW last year. The race would be open to independent paddlers capable of paddling Grade III-IV. The water in the river will be a combination of snowmelt, and water released from the Snowy Hydro, i.e. it will be COLD. Lots of warm personal gear would be required for those interested in competing.

I probably won't actually be able to go on this trip, just putting up some advertising for a cool event. It's an externally run event, so if you can find a partner to paddle with and can catch a ride up there, go for it! A group from ROC is also likely to be heading up on the Friday for a paddle on the Saturday, so there's an opportunity to make it social.
