Time to be optimistic and plan ahead for easing of restrictions, with a trip around the south eastern corner of Wilsons Promontory.

Starting with an 12km walk in to Roaring Meg on the night after dinner on Friday evening, this skips past the boring bits and leaves Saturday as the main event. An early start will be needed to spread out 25-30km of walking along the dramatic south eastern coastline. This route includes lots of ups and downs totalling 1000m of climbing, making for a long but rewarding middle day. Sunday is 20-25km return to the cars for a late arrival back into Melbourne.

All walking is on formed tracks, but the long distances will require participants to have some previous experience walking similar amounts in a single go. Due to the nature of the park there aren't campfires or opportunities to go swimming and we'll be packing light to move quickly. Conversely if this all sounds a bit too easy for you, get in contact and we can plan another weekend in the more challenging northern section.

Camping fees are $15 per person and will need to be prepaid ahead of the trip, transport costs are expected to be another $40 or so.
