Western Jagungal Wilderness

An extended wander around the far western side of Kosciuszko National Park hopping between historic high country huts. Most of the walking will be on management trails with some sections in open grassland, particularly optional side trips to peaks along the way. Just off summer the temperatures should still be quite warm but being the mountains frosts or even snow are always possible.

Daily distances of less than 20km and 1000m elevation gain make it accessible for most people, but prior experience carrying your full pack weight all day long are necessary. Camping is free throughout the region but the 6 hour drive each way (+ car shuffle) should put transport costs around $70 per person.
