Hey Guys/Girls,

This is going to be the first stage to the Australia Alps Walking Trail (AAWT). We are going from Walhalla to Mt St Gwinear. It’s around a 33km walk, with the first day being pretty easy and the second being a bit of a climb (around 1200m).

There is plenty to see, especially with the old goldmining town Walhalla which has a rich history.

The plan: Leave Friday around 6pm, get to Walhalla at 9pm drop people off and do the car shuffle to Mt St Gwinear. Leave on the Saturday morning and walk to O’Sheas Mill. Camp there overnight and continue the walk to Mt St Gwinear

It is a bit of a climb on the second day, so be mindful of your fitness level. Other than that, this trip is open to anyone regardless of experience.

Have a look at Karen’s website: http://jevans.pcug.org.au/Pages/KC/KCAAWT.html It goes through some great detail about the tracks.

If there are any questions about the trip, please let me know.

Luke.
