Keen to climb with the club and progress through the MUMC climbing framework? Aaron from Melbourne Climbing School will be running a Learn to Second day covering knots, belay skills, cleaning and removing gear and abseiling. These skills form part of the assesed components of becoming an MUMC seconder. More information can be found here:  (see Introduction to Trad Climbing and Abseiling and Seconder Assessment Sheet)

Aaron will be guiding a group of six participants at a crag close to Melbourne for one day of learning on the 9th of April. At the moment, this trip is expression of interest for sigups with confirmed participants contacted closer to the date. The cost per person for six participants is $76.67 and confirmed participants are encouraged to apply for a Training Fund grant: https://www.mumc.org.au/training

Please email with the following information if you are interested in being considered for this trip by the 25th of March

1. Past involvement with the club including trips attended (doesn't have to be just climbing) and any extra leadership or involvement including leading trips, being on committee or a deputy

2. Climbing experience including gym climbing and outdoor climbing external to the club. Top- roping indoors is required at minimum.

3. First aid qualification if applicable

4. Intentions and climbing goals. How will this Seconding Training benefit both yourself and the club? What are your climbing goals and how do you intend to be involved with MUMC in the future?

Due to few opportunities to participate in MUMC top roping trips, this requirement will be waived for attending this trip.

If you are keen to do more training (maybe rescue skills or a lead course) please email with the type of training you are interested in undertaking.
