We'll be doing a shortened version of the Major Mitchell Plateau Circuit. This will be an intermediate level hike. Participants should have experience with 15km days with a pack.  Temperatures will likely be quite chilly, so we expect you to have a decent bag/mat or rent one from the club.  We're keeping numbers low for this trip due to fuel prices, so cap is currently at 4. First Wannon Creek costs $11/night, but there will be only one night of camping! We will prebook and participants can just reimburse us.

Day 1- Sheep's Hill Carpark to First Wannon campsite. We follow the Sheep's Hill Track about 600 m elevation gain to Mt. William where there is a short bit on a sealed road. Follow the Grampians Peak Trail along the ridgeline until descending to First Wannon Creek where we will stay the night.

Day 2- First Wannon to Jimmy Creek campsite. Follow the trail along the Major Mitchell plateau. Trail eventually descends off the plateau and ends up on a section of a vehicle management track. We will then do a car shuffle between Jimmy Creek and Sheep's Hill.

If you have any questions about your experience and suitability for the hike, please sign up and talk to us at the meeting. Should be a good time!
