Stage 2 - Australia Alps Walking Track (AAWT)

Requirements: Overnight hiking experience essential. Moderate level of fitness, as there will be a lot of climbing. It will be cold, overnight temps may drop below 0.

Hey Guys/Girls.

This is the second stage of the alps walk. The first stage was a challenge and the second one isn't going to be any easier.

The Plan:

Drive up to Mt St Gwinear car park on the Friday night. Do the car shuffle to Walhalla Road (http://tinyurl.com/3rajxzh), should take a couple hours.

Route:

This will be an amazing walk, hard, but amazing. We will most likely be walking through snow. The first day we will be starting out around 1500m climbing up to 1600 or so then going down to 500m. The second day is going to be a big one, starting from 500m and climbing up to 1000m after which we drop back down to 500m again and climb back to 1000m where the cars will hopefully still be :)

Misc

• Need minimum 2 cars for car shuffle
• There will most likely be snow
• May be a river crossing, depending on rain

Costs:

• Should be around $20-30 each for fuel etc.
