Taking the long route up the Wellington River this walk is noted for its numerous river crossings and clambering on boulders while climbing the Valley of Destruction. 20km each day with 800m of elevation gain making for strenuous and long days, fitness being more important than prior experience.
Transport costs likely around $50 per person. Signups are contingent on people having researched the background of the trip.
