Social Inter-Uni Canoe Polo

*Participants will be limited based on the available space in the pool*

*This is a social event open to paddlers of all abilities, however, you will need to already know how to comfortably perform a wet exit.*

Join us to play a beginner-friendly game of canoe polo with LUMC, ROC, MUMC and MUOC!

For those of you who don’t know what canoe polo is like, don't worry. It is this weird but fun game in which you are in Kayaks and play a game that is similar to water polo. You can watch this short video to give you an idea of the game (https://youtu.be/2jtfXgYRsxk). The rules will be modified to allow for people with no experience to have fun and play.

Timeline:

6.30-7.30pm - Socialise and eat some food TBC

LUMC may provide some food (TBC- likely either Rogaining style Toasties or pizza), Please don't bring Alcohol - we don't have a liquor licence for the grassy area at back of pool and its not appropriate prior to kayaking!

7.30 - 8:00pm - sort gear out and rules briefing

8:00-9.30pm - Polo comp

9.30pm - Packup time (we have to be fully packed up, gear away and out of sports centre by 10pm)

Cost of around $20 per person to cover entry to the pool and gear hire

Additional expenses for transport to and from the venue may be required. Carpool TBC.
